Update – January 12th, 2026

The Township of North Dundas remains under a Level 3 Low Water Advisory, and the outdoor water use ban remains in effect.

Residents connected to the municipal water system in Winchester and Chesterville are required to continue conserving water and must refrain from all outdoor water use.

Due to frost now being set into the ground, significant groundwater recharge is unlikely until the spring thaw. As a result, the outdoor water use ban is expected to remain in place until at least March, unless conditions change.

This ban is necessary to protect drinking water supplies and ensure adequate water for essential uses such as drinking, cooking, sanitation, and firefighting.

Residents are encouraged to continue conserving water wherever possible. Updates will be shared as new information becomes available.
