2025 Leaf and Yard Waste Collection

Beginning May 18th, 2026 and continuing until November 27th, 2026, the Township of North Dundas will be collecting leaf and yard waste during our weekly curbside garbage collection. This service will be offered to all residents who currently receive curbside garbage collection.

Residents may set out 6 bags for collection with their regular garbage and recycling (branches are NOT permitted).

Acceptable Leaf and Yard Waste Material Includes:

  • garden plants and flowers (soil removed)
  • grass and grass clippings
  • hedge, shrub and tree trimmings (no sticks or branches permitted)
  • leaves and vines
  • natural Christmas trees
  • non-noxious weeds
  • wind-fallen fruit

The set-out requirements for leaf and yard waste are as follows:

  1.  Leaf and yard waste bags:
  • must be a compostable paper bag
  • must be securely closed and have an uncompromised bottom
  • must weigh no more then 15 kg when full

2.  Leaf and yard waste containers:

  • must have no lid
  • must be marked clearly
  • must have a handle
  • must have a capacity of no more than 140 litres
  • cannot weigh more than 22.67 kg (50 lbs) when full
  • shall be free of any ropes or bungee cords

2026 Household Hazardous Waste Days

  • May 9th

  • August 8th

  • September 5th

  • October 3rd

Beginning May 9, 2026, North Dundas residents may utilize the Household Hazardous Waste depot Monday to Saturday during regular operating hours.

Boyne Road Landfill Hours of Operation

  • Monday to Friday – Open from 8:00am-4:00pm 
  • Beginning May 9, the landfill will be open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will remain open every Saturday until November 28.

Recycling Collection Question?

Recycling collection and processing is no longer a responsibility of the Township of North Dundas, Circular Materials Ontario has taken over the responsibility beginning January 1st, 2025. Any questions concerning recycling can be answered by Contacting Circular Materials Ontario online, or by calling or emailing Emterra, their collection contractor.
