On April 12, 2023, Council for the Township of North Dundas officially adopted the 2023 Municipal budget. Highlights of this year’s budget include:
- Over $3.5 million for road, bridge and culvert projects. Improvements to Beach Street, John Street and Harper Street; road projects on Fawcett Road, Marionville Road, Forest Hill Road, and Bisson Road and the replacement of the Nation Valley Bridge at Barkley Creek are planned projects.
- Over $1 million for improvements to existing recreation facilities and parks and the continuing development of a new park in Hallville.
- $856 thousand for a new grader, a new ice resurfacer and the construction of a municipal compound with security for Township vehicle storage.
The approved 2023 Municipal Budget includes a taxation levy of $8,237,709.
How will this impact homeowners? Taxes for a property assessed at $214,000 (median assessment) will increase by $134.80 annually, or $11.23 monthly, representing a 5.41% increase in total taxation over 2022.
