The official opening of Wellfield#8 on Lafleur Road was held today, providing a reliable source of water at 20 L/s to the Township of North Dundas. Township staff and project partners Louis W. Bray Construction, Ontario Clean Water Agency and J.L. Richards & Associates gathered today to mark this momentous occasion.

Bringing this new water source online is a major step in meeting our current servicing demand, while preparing for our future water demand. This project is one of the many infrastructure upgrades that we have completed to future-proof the Township of North Dundas, opening the door for new commercial and residential developments.

This project was a recipient of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, a joint federal and provincial government program, with the federal government contributing $1.9 million dollars and the provincial government contributing $1.6 million dollars toward the project. The remainder of the funding will continue to be raised through water rates and future capital connection charges within the Villages of Winchester and Chesterville.

For more information regarding the operation of the new wellfield, please contact the Environmental Services Department at 613-774-2105 ext. 238 or visit Lets Connect North Dundas for more project details.
