The Township of North Dundas has lowered the flags in mourning for the East Region Ontario Provincial Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty in the early hours of this morning.
Three officers responded to a report of gunshots at a home in Bourget, and upon arrival the three officers were shot. Two of the officers are reportedly recovering in hospital and one officer has since passed away from the injuries.
This is a tragic reminder of the personal risk our First Responders put themselves in each and every day to protect our community, and for that we are truly grateful. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of these officers.
