Trans-Northern Pipelines Inc. (TNPI) has informed the Township that a segment of their pipeline running through our area is being deactivated this summer.
The deactivation process includes:
Safely purging the pipeline of product
Cleaning and isolating the segment from the active system
Filling the pipeline with nitrogen for safe storage
Continued monitoring and maintenance of the deactivated segment
This process ensures that the pipeline remains safely out of service while still complying with all federal safety regulations. Residents and businesses located near the pipeline should continue to follow safe digging and safe crossing practices, including calling Ontario OneCall for locates before any ground disturbance.
