Notice of Public Meeting - Oct.11th at 6:30pm - Zoning Bylaw Amendments for Cannabis Production

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING AMENDMENTS TO THE ZONING BYLAWS OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NORTH DUNDAS RELATED TO CANNABIS PRODUCTION FACILITIES. 

TAKE NOTICE that the Township of North Dundas is holding a statutory public meeting on the 11th day of October 2022 at 6:30 PM at 636 St. Lawrence Street, Winchester, regarding options for a Township-initiated amendment to the Township’s Zoning Bylaws to regulate cannabis production facilities. 

AND THAT in accordance with Section 38 of the Planning Act, an Interim Control Bylaw was passed on November 3rd 2020, and a subsequent extension of the bylaw was passed on October 26th 2021, related to cannabis production facilities in the Township of North Dundas. These interim controls last until November 3rd 2022. 

THE PURPOSE of the statutory public meeting is to seek input from the public and Council for a preferred approach to regulating cannabis production facilities in the Township of North Dundas. This meeting is intended to discuss where Cannabis production facilities are permitted within the Township and how they can be regulated. 

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to this proposed amendment. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of North Dundas before the bylaw is enacted (if approved), the person or public body is NOT entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township of North Dundas to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
