The Township of North Dundas officially named and opened Brian Telford Community Park in Hallville on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
The ceremony was attended by Mayor Tony Fraser, MPP Nolan Quinn, members of Council and Township staff, the Telford family, representatives of the Mountain and District Lions, and community members. The Telford family grandchildren unveiled the official "Brian Telford Community Park" sign during the ceremony, and family representatives shared memories of Brian Telford and his dedication to the community.
MPP Quinn recognized the provincial contribution to the project, including a $200,000 Ontario Trillium Capital Grant and a $125,000 Enabling Accessibility Grant, both directed toward the park's splash pad. The project also received approximately $2 million through the federal-provincial Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) Community, Culture and Recreation Stream.
Construction on the park began in September 2023, with an estimated total project investment of $2.8 million. The park is now open for residents to enjoy.
Following the ceremony, community members enjoyed a barbecue hosted by the Mountain and District Lions.
