We have three locations - Rockland, Ottawa, and Chesterville. All locations have pharmacists and pharmacy team members with certified training and expertise in Geriatric Medicine, Mental Health, Diabetes, Pain Management, Addictions, and many other specialty areas. We also employ and collaborate with nurses, personal support workers, addictions counsellors, case and crisis workers, housing agents, and other professionals who share the same mission as we do – achieving Wellness. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic pharmacy assistant. Kroll and emar [PointClickCare ad Mede-care] software proficiency is an asset. If you have experience with LTC pharmacy (PACMED, retirement home prescription entry, etc.) this will be a definite advantage for the position.

Salary: $17.00-$25.00 per hour

Detailed Duties & Responsibilities: 
Duties include:

  • entering, updating, and processing all data in pharmacy computer system (KROLL) in an efficient manner
  • answering and redirecting phone calls to the appropriate staff member
  • attending to patients with courtesy by walk in or phone
  • preparing prescription label printouts
  • communicating with a variety of health care professionals

Qualifications:

  • Prior pharmacy experience is an important asset, although not a requirement if you have worked in a related field (retirement homes, doctors’ offices, hospitals, etc.)
  • Teamwork and positive attitude are requirements to ensure smooth operations of the pharmacy and to embrace the family atmosphere
  • Accurate, efficient working skills is critical to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills is a must
  • Knowledge of third-party adjudication processes and guidelines
  • Knowledge of required pharmacy calculations
  • Ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent with computer systems such as Kroll, POS, email, word processing, spreadsheet applications, etc.
  • Innovative critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze and problem solve
  • Prior experience working in pharmacies that service Retirement Homes

Hours of Operation:
Chesterville Pharmacy is open Monday to Friday from 9am - 6pm and Saturdays from 9am - 3pm. You will not have to work evenings or holidays.
