The
Winchester District Memorial Hospital is situated in Winchester, a
town of approximately 2,400 people centrally located in North Dundas, 50 kilometers south of the downtown Ottawa and 20
kilometers north of the Highway #401 and the St. Lawrence River.
The Hospital is fully accredited and comprised of 70 beds -- 44
acute care beds and 26 complex continuing care beds, providing
access to primary and secondary healthcare services to over
156,000 people in the counties of Dundas, Stormont, Russell (south
western portion) and Grenville (eastern Portion) and the south
eastern portion of Ottawa. |

The WDMH is associated with the Hawkesbury and District

Scheduled for completion in January 2003, the new satellite
dialysis unit of the Ottawa Hospital here at Winchester
District Memorial Hospital is the first step in a 3-phase
capital redevelopment plan. The second phase will
consist of a brand new 50,000 square foot expansion housing
a new Emergency, ICU, Surgical Suites and Diagnostic Imaging
units. An additional 50,000 square feet of existing
hospital space will b extensively renovated to consolidate
Ambulatory Care and update all Inpatient Units. |
