Ř     Martin Schoones reported from council on the business retention and expansion program, there is a 4 day training course at the end of April.  It is too late for now, council suggested we look at it in the fall.  It was suggested by Martin that we have a steering committee of about 5 people.  Martin and Bill Smirle will sit on committee representing council.  Anyone interested in the committee should contact Martin, he also suggested the Chamber run an ad in the papers looking for members for the steering committee, more information to follow.

Ř     Trade Show- do we want one, when and where?  Brad Pinch, Louise Arsenault and Gerry Boyce will form a committee.  Some suggestions made were to hold it Friday night and Saturday only, not Sunday.  Booths not to exceed $100 for chamber members, open to out side business, but charge more.  Three different prices: Chamber members, non-profit, outside businesses.  Birket offered help from his staff with the Trade Show committee.

Treasurers Report: general account $9,707.15, Winchester $1,845.99, Chesterville $400, Mountain $525.

Registrar’s Report: Owen reported we have 71 members including 16 new members – 10 members from last year still owing.  Why haven’t the ten paid? Why did they leave the chamber?  These questions could be asked to those who have not paid and left the chamber.

Chris Durant suggested we have anniversary dates for each member, Owen said it would be extra work trying to keep track.  Chris offered to update website if we can get in ourselves – Owen to check.  Birket suggested a policy for membership be drawn up.

Tom Manley from the Green Party suggested we open our chamber to outside business, this became a big discussion and was suggested we hold over to next meeting- Ted Ceelen mentioned he belongs to two chambers

Ken made a motion to rescind the motion made about outside members.

Motion by Ken that membership policies including time period, membership category and fees to be reviewed for the year 2005 – Seconded by Bruce
