PRESENTATION: John Ralko from the OPP spoke about how to avoid
NSF cheques and how to recognize counterfeit money.
Very
good presentation, the Chamber thanked John and he stayed for the
rest of the meeting.
Martin Schoones showed a video on Business Retention and
Expansion, very interesting but waiting to see if it is still
available and if Council will back it.
NEW
BUSINESS:
1)
All Candidates Meetings: Hall rental at South Mountain for
all Candidates meeting was waved , suggested by Gerry Boyce that
we make a donation to the Mountain Ag. Society for the amount of
$75 also to the Chesterville Legion for the same amount seconded
by Connie, passed, Suggested by Gerry Boyce that we give Nick
Zrymiak something for being the mediator, Heather Erwin suggested
a $75 gift certificate from the LCBO, seconded by Ed, passed.
Gerry said to also hand deliver the thank you. Heather will take
care of it.
Al
Armstrong will check and see if the Winchester Hall was at no
cost.
2)
Advertising: It was decided to run an ad in the Winchester
Press and Chesterville Record promoting everyone in the Chamber
for Christmas. Heather will take care of the advertising. Eric
will write a News Release to submit to both papers.
3)
Calendar: Discussed having a calendar made to run May 2004
to May 2005.
Al
suggested we design a flyer that can be given to real estate
agents and the welcome wagon. More info is needed, will discuss
at next meeting.
