CALL TO ORDER:  Meeting was called to order at 7:35 a.m. 

INTRODUCTIONS: Owen Shortt, Ted Celen, Sandie Puddephatt, Roger Cole, Keith Fawcett, Corrie McRae (Nestle's rep), Gerry Boyce, Sandy Johnstone, Sandra Vasey,  Heather Irwin, Donna Rushford, Butch Oldford 

ADDITIONS TO AGENDA:  1) Owen brought up the subject of a Safety in the Workplace Seminar hosted by Hydro One.  This seminar is suggested for any employer who hires summer students but is open to anyone.  It will be held at NDDHS on November 6/03.  Call Owen for more details. 

OLD BUSINESS:   

1) Map Committee - Chamber sponsored map is on hold at present.  North Dundas Township has already done a map and it is available at the Municipal office for $1.50.  Roger Cole said it was not copyrighted so the Chamber could use it if they so choose. 

2) Council members present - Roger Cole and Keith Fawcett.  They gave a brief report on who was running for office to date - nominations close Sept. 26. Roger was at Counties and reported that a crew was available to do such things as cleaning streets, fixing interlock sidewalks, painting arena.  Requests should be made through Arden Carruthers.  Owen said he was pleased that there was representation from Council and we were assured that this would continue after the elections as well. 

3)  Chamber sign - was donated by Rob Saunders and was used at a booth at the Chesterville Fair.  Face painting and free balloons were sponsored by Chamber by way of a $150 donation to Chesterville Fair Board.

ALL CANDIDATES MEETING:  must decide on format and get a moderator.  Keith suggested that each candidate be allowed a certain amount of time to speak.  Roger suggested that all questions be handled through the moderator and that no personal questions be allowed.  Owen suggested that there be a meeting in each area to give more people the opportunity to attend such a meeting.  Dates set - Winchester, Oct. 15: Chesterville, Oct 29, and Mountain, October 22.  Gerry said he had asked 4 people to be moderator and all 4 had declined.  Gerry, Butch and Owen to work together to find a moderator and draw up a format for the meetings.  Schedule meetings for 7:30 pm.  It was suggested that ads be put in the papers so that people are made aware of the meetings.  It was stated by Keith that perhaps Council would pay for the advertising.
